December Scholastic Orders - Last Call Tonight

 

 
Dear Families,

Thank you so much for your ongoing book orders.

I was able to order free books for the whole class to take home.  I will be sending them home throughout the year, so look for surprises in your child's book bag.

December choices include a gift catalog for the Winter holidays.  I try to keep your orders a secret and hand to you personally so that your child can be surprised.
 
NEW! During the COVID-19 crisis, you can choose to have your child's online book order shipped right to your door or delivered to me with our class order.

Mrs. Confer’s Lincoln Kindergarten Class          December 4, 2020
Important Dates Dec. 9 and  16 -  Late Start December 17- Holiday party - PJ Day  December 18th - Last Day before Break *Winter Break 12/21-1/3   Laptop Computers.  We will only be using them on Tuesday and Thursday if you do not want to send them every day.  Just remember to send them fully charged. On Wednesday, we will continue to use the computers in the computer lab.   Holiday Party - Dec. 17th - Wear your favorite PJ’s and bring a blanket/pillow. We will be watching “The Grinch”.	Daily Folder - Continue to check daily Cold Weather Wear - Please mark all cold weather items with your children's name.  It is the season of lost mittens, gloves and hats. Water bottles - Please send your child with a water bottle to school.  Some are forgetting these. **Snacks - We have 19 children in our class right now.  Please make sure your child brings enough snacks on their leader day.  Library - Library books go home every Thursday.  Please help your child to remember to return the book to school.
Shape Show and Tell - December/Jan - Please send something that is a 3D shape for your show and tell. Homework Please help your child complete their monthly homework calendar and maybe post on the fridge where the kids can see it.  Christmas Trees  On Friday, our next take home project for this year came home. We are decorating Christmas trees to hang in our hallways this holiday season. Please work with your child to decorate your tree and return it to school.	Academics Our language arts strategy focused on analyzing ‘Story Elements’. We talked about the characters, setting, problem and the solution in a story. In Writing, we are continuing “Pattern Books”.   In Math, we are focusing on 2-D and 3D shapes.  Help your child spot them around the house:2D- circle, square, triangle, rectangle, hexagon, 3D-  sphere, cone, cube and cylinder.  In our Journals, we are working on creating sentences and using our sight words.  Please review our  complete sight word list found on my blog: https://conferk20.blogspot.com
