Nov 12th, 13th, 20th  - Half Days

Nov 25-27 - Thanksgiving Break

Over the next two weeks, I will be assessing your student in preparation for our first report cards that will go home at Thanksgiving Break.  We will be looking at letter sound identification, rhyming, identifying/writing numbers 0-20, shape identification, development of writing, number sense sums up to 10, and various other kindergarten skills.  I would like to wait to conference again after report cards go home and when we get back from Thanksgiving Break.  I can meet earlier if you desire.

Daily Folder - Continue to check daily

Cold Weather Wear - Please mark all cold weather items with your children's name.  It is the season of lost mittens, gloves and hats. If your child wears boots, please send shoes in their backpack.  You can consider having a pair that they leave here in their locker.

Water bottles - Please send your child with a water bottle to school.

Snacks - We have 17 children in our class right now.  Please make sure your child brings enough snacks on their leader day.

Library - Library books go home every Thursday.  Please help your child to remember to return the book to school.

Homework

Please help your child complete their monthly homework calendar and maybe post on the fridge where the kids can see it.

If your child brings home something that is not completed, please ask them about it and encourage them to complete at home if possible.  Sometimes the students fall behind or just need the quiet space of home to concentrate on some of the activities.

Online -Yesterday, I sent home the login for Lexia Core 5..  I would like for you and your child to log in at least one time during the weekend and work for 10 minutes.

Make sure that you have been able to access my weekly Blog and check the Google Classroom.

Academics

In Language Arts, we are continuing to learn about Sequence of Events.   We will begin to understand the beginning, middle and end of a story  and practice  retelling stories using our own words.  So far, we have learned the following sight words: I , like & am.  Please help your child find these words in their books at home when you are reading with them.

In Math, we are practicing simple word problems using addition: 1-10

In our Journals, we are working on creating sentences.  Also counting words in our sentences and using spaces.

Weather Watchers

We have been studying how the sun heats the earth and affects our lives.
