Important Dates: 3/24 - Late Start 3/26 - Read My Shirt Day 4/1 - Neon Day 4/2 - No School - Spring Break Starts Show and Tell the rest of March/April Estimation Jar  Please have your child select items to place in the jar.  Select between 1-20 items.  Please write how many are in the jar on a slip of paper and put in the bag. Students should not bring a traditional show and tell item, just the estimation jar. Library Books   Please make sure the children return their library books on Thursdays.   Scholastic Orders for March Due by tonight. Positivity Project:This week was Love of Learning: You master new topics on your own or in school. https://conferk20.blogspot.com Any questions ?: aconfer@stjoebears.com text me at  773-968-9657	In School this week: Phonics - Letter L Reading - Compare/Contrast  We are learning how to compare and contrast in text as we read.  We are listening for signal words like “too” and “but” to help us compare and contrast.   Writing -Informational writing We will list some people, activities, and animals we know at least three things about.  Then we can write a 3 page informational text about some of these.  Spelling Words: bag, dad, let, lap, lid, lip Science - “Plant and Animal Secrets” on Mystery Science online.  We will be planting bean seeds and will be waiting 5-7 days till they sprout.  Math - Estimation  REMINDERS: Computers to school each day: fully charged and leave charge cord at home. Labeled water bottle daily Check folder daily. Snowgear - Everything will go home this week.  Yeah Spring! Backpacks Should be checked and cleaned out daily No toys or extra items in backpacks. Please no little gifts for other students.
