Important Dates: Late starts Wed. : April 14, 21, and 28th May 5, 12, 19, 26  and June 2 Mon May 3 - No School Elementary Mon May 31 - No School - Memorial day June 10 - ½ day June 11 - ½ day - last day of school Show and Tell the rest of March/April Estimation Jar  Please have your child select items to place in the jar.  Select between 1-100 items.  Please write how many are in the jar on a slip of paper and put in the bag. Students should not bring a traditional show and tell item, just the estimation jar. Library Books   Please make sure the children return their library books on Thursdays.   Positivity Project:This week will be  Fairness: You believe that all people have value. You approach situations with an unbiased mindset and treat everyone with respect. Secret Stories - I have been sharing some fun stories about how the alphabet gets along or sometimes does not.  These stories and songs will help students to sound out challenging words.  We are beginning with some Diagraphs - th, sh, ch, and wh.	In School this week: Phonics - Letter K Reading -Identify Cause and Effect.   Writing -Informational writing We will finish our animal reports. Spelling Words: led, bad, kiss, Kit, jam, Kim Sight Words:  this, she, saw Social Studies -  Unit 4: How Do I Get Along With Others? Science -”Why would you want an old log in your backyard?” on Mystery Science online.  Backyard scientists looking for signs of spring Math - Measurement: basic concepts of Height, Width, Area, Weight and Capacity REMINDERS: Computers to school each day: fully charged and leave charge cord at home. Labeled water bottle daily Check folder daily. Backpacks Should be checked and cleaned out daily No toys or extra items in backpacks.
